Course Structure

Trainees have two days induction at the beginning of the course and are introduced to their Host School and Mentor during the first week. During the Autumn Term trainees will spend three days a week in school and two days on Professional Studies and developing their subject knowledge. During the Spring Term trainees complete a five week block teaching practice in their Twin Placement School and in the Summer Term trainees complete a six week block teaching practice. Each trainee is assigned a mentor who supports and guides them through their professional development. Throughout the year trainees complete directed tasks and assignments and collect a range of evidence for their Professional Development Portfolio which is a core requirement for the successful completion of the course.
